The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation, its subsidiaries, and affiliates (collectively “BNY Mellon”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) appreciate your concerns about the privacy of personal information that you provide to us through the mobile application (“Mobile App”). Accordingly, we have posted the Mobile App Privacy Policy (“the Policy”) to explain how we handle such information.


The Policy supplements the terms of the BNY Mellon Online Privacy Policy ( and Cookie Policy ( and explains how BNY Mellon handles information collected from your use of the Mobile App.




If you do not agree to the terms of the Policy, please do not provide us with any information and do not use the Mobile App. By using the Mobile App and voluntarily providing your personally identifiable information to us, you consent to the collection and use of such personally identifiable information as set forth in the Policy.


The Policy applies to the Mobile App. Our online products and services may have different privacy policies. To view the privacy policies for specific products and services please click on the privacy policy link on the applicable site.




The Policy is effective as of the date listed above. We may modify the Policy at any time so please check from time to time for such modifications. Any changes to the Policy will be effective as of the date they are posted. If you have specific questions regarding this Policy or any information you have sent via the Mobile App, please do not hesitate to contact us.




When you download, register, or use the Mobile App, BNY Mellon and our service providers may collect certain information automatically including your IP address (Internet Protocol address), the operating system installed on your mobile device, the browser types used on your mobile device, your ISP (Internet Service Provider), device ID, information about your location, and information about your use of the Mobile App. When you are logged in to your Wealth Online account we also monitor your account by collecting data, such as typing speed, touch gestures, scrolling activity and mouse movements (‘behavioural biometrics’) and additional actions you may have performed during your use of the mobile application, to uniquely identify you and detect suspicious activity.”


The services and functionality offered by the Mobile App require you to provide us with certain information, including Username and Password.


The Mobile App may permit you to contact us via email. Whenever you send an email via an email link in the Mobile App, you will be providing us with your name and email address and any other information you choose to include in the text of your message. The Mobile App may also include other features that give you the opportunity to provide us with information about yourself. You do not have to provide us with this information if you do not want to; however, your ability to use certain functions of the Mobile App may be limited as a result.




We may use information provided by you or collected through your use of the Mobile App, including camera, contacts, and location, for a number of purposes unless restricted by law, including:


  • Providing the services and functionality offered by the Mobile App;
  • Remembering preferences that you submit as well as those generated from your usage data to customize your use of the Mobile App;
  • Improving the quality of the Mobile App and enhancing your overall experience;
  • Using aggregated usage data to track trends and analyze patterns on this Mobile App;
  • Personalizing the services we offer to you;
  • Allowing you to share certain information on the Mobile App via social media bookmarking buttons, email or on social networking sites;
  • Detecting and preventing fraud and other risks to you or BNY Mellon; and
  • Complying with and enforcing applicable legal requirements, industry standards, contractual obligations and BNY Mellon policies.

Any information collected about you from the Mobile App may be associated with other identifying information that we have about you.


In addition to the above uses, we may use your information for the purpose of conducting business with you, managing our relation- ship with you, and advising you of products and services that we believe might be of interest. The information collected also is used to provide a record of communications between BNY Mellon and the Mobile App users and to comply with any applicable legal and/ or regulatory requirements.




We do not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to third parties. We share your information only with our (i) affiliates; (ii) service providers that have agreed to confidentiality restrictions and use any personal information they collect on our behalf solely for the purpose of providing the contracted service to us; (iii) as otherwise described herein in order to provide you with our services; and (iv) to comply with all applicable laws, regulations and rules, and requests of law enforcement, regulatory and other governmental agencies. Also, we may share in aggregate, statistical form, non-personal information regarding the visitors to the Site, traffic patterns, and Site usage with our partners, affiliates or advertisers.


Your information will be transferred and stored in jurisdictions, including the United States, India and other jurisdictions that may be subject to differing standards of data protection requirements. BNYM will take appropriate steps to ensure that transfers of personally identifiable information are in accordance with applicable law.


BNYM may, in the future, sell or otherwise transfer some or all of its assets to a third party. Your personally identifiable information, technical information about your device or browser and/or other anonymous information we obtain from you via the Site may be disclosed to any potential or actual third party purchasers of such assets and/or may be among those assets transferred.


For the avoidance of doubt, text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared by BNYM with any third parties.




The Mobile App may contain links to third party sites (including social media bookmarking buttons that enable you to share certain content on the Mobile App). The Mobile App may also contain links to BNY Mellon websites and/or third-party websites. Use of these websites is governed by the applicable terms of use, and privacy and cookie policies contained on those websites. Please review the cookie and privacy policies of these third-party sites to understand how they may use Cookies and your information. The Policy does not apply to your use of a third-party site.




We utilize reasonable security technologies to protect sensitive information. However, the security of this information depends in part on the security of the mobile device you use to communicate with us, the security you use to protect usernames and passwords, and the security provided by your internet access services provider. We are not responsible for the security of your internet access services provider; you should review the security and privacy policies of your internet access services provider carefully. Information that you access via the Mobile App may be stored on your mobile device during your session for your convenience. If others have access to your mobile device or your Username and Password, they may be able to access this information. We are not responsible for the security or privacy of information communicated to or from such mobile devices. Finally, you should keep any correspondence you receive relating to the Mobile App or the services (including, but not limited to registration information, emails, or any other information) confidential and in a safe place.




We respect the privacy of your children and do not knowingly collect or retain personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 through the Mobile App.
