
Erica Lord serves as Chief Fiduciary Officer for BNY Mellon Wealth Management. In this role, she is responsible for the oversight of fiduciary relationships and the delivery of fiduciary, advisory, and wealth planning services for BNY Mellon’s Wealth Management business, building holistic Active Wealth solutions for individuals, families, and organizations.
Erica joined the firm with over 20 years of experience serving high net worth individuals and families. Prior to joining BNY Mellon, she held a variety of fiduciary leadership positions in the financial services industry, including serving as Chief Fiduciary Officer for a global family office and a Delaware trust company. She also has a deep trust and estate legal background, having practiced law for over 15 years, first with a large, international law firm, and subsequently as Assistant General Counsel for the trusts and estates legal team of another large corporate fiduciary. She enjoys working with ultra-high net worth clients to create customized wealth management solutions and implement family legacies through complex trust and estate planning and administration. Erica has particular interest in fiduciary investing, unique assets, and multi-generational family wealth education.
Erica earned a Juris Doctor with honor from The George Washington University, Washington DC, and a Bachelor of Arts with high honor from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan. She is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Estate Planning Council. She has written and spoken widely for a variety of publications and professional organizations, including ACTEC and the ACTEC Law Journal, Trusts & Estates magazine, Estate Planning magazine, the American Bankers Association, ALI-ABA, the Illinois Bar Journal, and the Chicago Estate Planning Council.
