Information Security – Are you Aware of the Risks?

Information security is designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of electronic and physical data from unauthorized access whether with malicious intent or not.  In this session we will explore a number of topics and best practices including fiduciary responsibility, regulatory requirements and document retention policies that non-profit organizations should consider in order to protect themselves, their organizations and donors from unwanted risks.

Opportunities to Cultivate Non-Cash Gifts to Grow Your Gift Annuity Program

Gift annuities are one of the most frequently used and accessible planned giving vehicles and cash is king when it comes to funding assets. However, in a world where donors’ net worth is more closely tied to rising asset prices than savings rates, charities should not miss the opportunity to encourage the use of non-cash assets to increase the benefits and impact of charitable gift annuities. In this session, we will explore types of assets that are used to fund gift annuities and discuss the benefits, risks, and considerations to the donor and the charity for each. This session will arm fund raising professionals with information and techniques that will stimulate more substantive donor conversations and lead to larger more impactful gifts.

Featured speaker:

David Hohler, CFA, Director of Investments, Planned Giving BNY Mellon Wealth Management
