Ben McGloin

Ben McGloin is Head of BNY Mellon Wealth Management’s Advice, Planning and Fiduciary Services group. Ben has over 25 years of industry experience in client, investment and fiduciary roles, as well as a background in strategy and governance. In his role, Ben leads an extensive group of experts across the country primarily dedicated to providing clients and their advisors with timely and important insights and advice and actively managing their wealth, especially during difficult times.

 

Before taking on leadership of our advice and fiduciary teams, Ben was head of portfolio management, responsible for leading the implementation of wealth and investment strategies across the Wealth Management organization. He was a member of the firm's Investment Policy, Investment Strategy, Equity Strategy, International Investment, Solutions Strategy and Alternative Investments Strategy Committees. 

 

Ben has spent his career working with the investments of both individual and institutional investors. As managing director of portfolio management for U.S. Markets—West, he provided direct leadership for the region's portfolio management and new-business development efforts. Additionally, Ben held the positions of Team Leader and Senior Portfolio Manager in the Newport Beach office. 

 

Prior to joining BNY Mellon in 2003, Ben worked for Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO) as a Global Analyst. His prior experience includes positions as a Fixed Income and Derivatives Trader and Treasury Analyst for Investors Bank & Trust in Boston and multiple banking-related positions for TSB Bank and Ulster Bank in Ireland. Ben is a CFA charterholder and member of the CFA Institute, as well as a member of the Orange County Society of Investment. He holds a bachelor’s in business studies from Dublin City University in Ireland.
